These are your tasks:

  • Coordinates and delegates between CSA Operations staff, International Partners/Agencies, foreign regulators and customers as required to accomplish project objectives. Responds to customer inquiries on European CE marking and related technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Responds to customer inquiries for information on European CE marking concerning products to be exported to the European Union and other countries members of the European Economic Area. These inquiries can be related to technical as well as regulatory requirements. 
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates designated GMA CE marking projects. Ensures that the goals of each project meet customer needs and are accomplished within the prescribed time frame, funding parameters and regulatory requirements. Activities will include, but are not limited to, the following:Identification of project scope, estimated cost and lead time;Identify applicable European Directives and European Harmonized Standards;Provide engineering inputs to testing facilities for product testing (i.e. specify tests to be performed);Arrange alternative testing services with International Partners and other organizations to complete projects when it makes more sense to be done elsewhere;Customize engineering projects/reports to meet customer or CE marking requirements;Assign project tasks to certification engineers for review of non-CSA test reports. Assignment can also include additional testing of GMA client’s products;Review engineering reports for completeness;Ensure all applicable forms are completed properly;Ensure project cost and obligations are met.Coordinates with other departments, International Partners/Agencies and foreign regulators to deliver one-stop service to customers. Provides a point of contact for customers that are requiring CE marking services in the European Union and the European Economic Area.
  • Keeps up-to-date on CE marking requirements. Researches and gathers information and updates on CE marking requirements, government regulations, administrative guidelines and working practices and forms for CE marking. Compiles and maintains a data base system containing such information. Informs and directs internal staff on national deviations and country specific requirements associated with the preparation of engineering reports or technical files.
  • Plans, organizes and conducts training sessions with customers, internal staff and International Partners/Agencies to ensure consistency of process and maintenance of technical competence. Develops training materials to encompass regulatory requirements, procedural requirements and conformity requirements for each country of interest. Arranges for subject matter experts to assist with technical training and/or conduct training sessions as required.
  • Documents, reviews and updates CE marking processes and procedures so that all users of the information can provide consistent, cost effective and timely services.
  • Activities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • What we expect:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering and/or equivalent 5 plus years of experience in compliance industry
  • Minimum 2 years experience with EU Directives, EU Harmonized and CENELEC Standards, and IEC standards
  • Good English (written and spoken); bilingualism is definitely an asset
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills; customer service skill
  • Strong organizational, time and project management skills to complete job tasks independently and in a time-efficient manner
  • Ability to work without supervision, in a team-based work environment
  • Read, interpret engineering drawings
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office)
  • Strong problem-solving ability; detail oriented
  • Flexible in schedule and time management
  • Detail oriented with the ability to deliver complex projects on time and bring breakthrough thinking and new processes to difficult situations
  • Build on innate knowledge by taking the initiative necessary to gain an intimate understanding of customer needs and businesses, as well as a deep familiarity of the applicable standards
