KEMA Labs, part of CESI, is seeking a Power Cybernetics Engineer-Researcher for the Flex Power Grid (FPG) Lab in Arnhem, Netherlands. The role involves developing services in Power Cybernetics and creating new related services to support the company’s growth in the power system industry.
The position requires a Test Engineer with a strong background in power electronics and its applications in power systems. Responsibilities include developing sophisticated testing and validation methods for power equipment such as PV inverters, electric vehicle chargers, and heat pumps, including hardware testing, simulation, and software model validation.
Location & Team
The FPG Lab engages in research programs and projects to acquire new knowledge, develop new services, and enhance KEMA Labs’ reputation as a technology leader. The lab collaborates with partners like DERLab, ISGAN, standardization bodies, and universities such as Delft and Eindhoven University of Technology.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics (Ph.D. preferred)
- Solid knowledge of power systems, operation, and protection
- Solid knowledge of power electronic principles, control, and power conversion
- Solid knowledge of power electronic and power system modeling
- Solid knowledge of digital simulation of power electronics and power systems
- Experience with real-time simulation, HIL testing, co-simulation, or hardware-in-the-loop techniques is advantageous
- Laboratory testing experience is advantageous
- Established international contact network through academic or professional engagement
