TenneT is growing fast to realize its strategic ambitions. We play a leading role in driving the energy transition. TenneT has committed to a 2GW program to realize at least 14 2GW HVDC Grid Connection Systems that bring the power from the offshore wind farms in the North sea into the Dutch and German electricity grid in the period up to 2031.

We are looking for a passionate Strategic Buyer at our location Arnhem who will contribute to this and that might be you?

Your contribution to TenneT

You will work in the SCM (Supply Chain Management) unit for the team that supports Large Project Offshore (LPO). LPO is responsible for the offshore grid connection projects and you will be responsible for procurement related activities buyer within a 2GW Portfolio. Your workplace is in Arnhem. Working from home is also partly possible in alignment with the Lead of the SCM-DC-LPO team. (You will be part of a cross border-team and in regular contact with the German team members. Business trips to Hannover and Bayreuth will be part of the job.)

  • You will be responsible to conduct sourcing activities within the 2GW offshore program
  • Your core tasks includes to manages price & index elements for all projects with one 2GW partner / consortium in portfolio and project contracts
  • One part of your job is to execute supplier performance management for one partner / consortium and to manage the sub-supplier governance
  • You will proactively develop & maintain strong relationship with one partner / consortium on continuous basis
  • You will support your colleagues to develop best practices and setup standardized processes
  • Defining of standardized processes and setups (call-Off process)
  • You conduct active stakeholder management; you have insight into the influence, wishes, motives and intentions of colleagues and suppliers of strategic importance to LPO and build and maintain relationships in such a way that the interests of the projects are served in a proper manner
  • Your profile and background

    Due to ambitious governmental plans the (offshore) project portfolio of TenneT is growing and therefore we do need to increase internal personnel capacity. You will work in close cooperation with the LPO-department and be part of the Project Team for 2GW, which is why interactive communication is essential for success. Especially as we operate in a volatile market. Flexibility, cooperation and strategic thinking are crucial to the function.

  • You have a (HBO/University) degree preferably in economics or business administration or in a comparable field of study;
  • Extensive, practical experience in all procurement activities (incl. EU Tender law);
  • You work result and customer oriented, and analytically, you have the power of persuasion and form personal judgements;
  • You show initiative, are open-minded with regard to new topics and enjoy working in a team;
  • You have subject-matter expertise of procurement packages in the field of engineering, environmental management, contract forms and innovation

    Supply Chain Management supports TenneT’s activities by determining which goods and services are required to realize projects and maintenance work. We also structure and cover these needs. We serve TenneT’s internal customers and ensures better cooperation with our external suppliers.
