The Role
In this role, the Senior Engineer will work closely with customers to configure and implement advanced applications across power grids to deliver the advanced transmission management functions of OSI’s control systems and provide ongoing customer support to ensure reliable performance and world-class customer satisfaction. Working from the Netherlands, and from company and customer sites across Europe as required, the successful applicant will contribute to project delivery excellence in support of utility customers in the energy generation transmission and distribution industries.
Your Impact
As a Senior Power Systems Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Design, plan, integrate, test and commission hardware and software requirements on customer systems.
- Design, integrate, test, and commission advanced control systems for electric utilities.
- Evaluate contract specifications and define project requirements.
- Communicate detailed requirements to internal departments as needed.
- Work directly with customers and remote engineering team members to understand requirements and communicate project plans.
- Perform customer training and consult on power system modeling to ensure the effective use and maintenance of a customer’s power system applications.
- Assist in creating project and product documentation as needed.
- Perform unit testing and tuning to ensure power system applications will meet customer and industry requirements.
- Support live customer systems using knowledge of power systems and OSI application functionality with clear, logical thought processes.
- Assist in creating training materials and project documentation as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards and trends.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Power Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation and Computer Science, Telecommunication.
- Detailed practical understanding of energy transmission and/or distribution systems, including operation, control, and optimization.
- Experience in designing, implementing, and testing advanced power systems applications including State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, Study Power Flow, model management, or other specialized functions.
- Strong technical background with the ability to apply knowledge spanning IT and OT solutions with at least 3 years of relevant experience;
- Technical background with the ability to apply knowledge in generic programming languages such is C / C++, C#, .NET, Python.
- Technical background with the ability to apply knowledge in standardized programming languages that are used to manage relational database such is SQL.
