Overview
In this role you will design, build, and validate power system models using AspenTech’s Digital Grid Management software for utility customers. You will lead GIS data extraction and mapping to create accurate distribution network models and support advanced ADMS applications. You’ll collaborate with customers and global teams to ensure successful delivery and knowledge transfer, shaping how utilities manage grids. This position offers impact across projects, evolving with industry standards and grid modernization initiatives.
Verantwoordelijkheden
- Extract GIS data from utility sources and import it into the DGM to create functional grid models
- Maintain and validate network models for distribution systems
- Configure data inputs for ADMS applications such as Power Flow, FLISR, and related features
- Evaluate contract specifications and translate into project requirements
- Coordinate with internal teams and customers to communicate plans and requirements
- Engage with customers and remote engineers for requirements and project planning
- Conduct customer training and advise on power system modelling and applications
- Produce project and product documentation as needed
- Perform unit testing and tuning to meet industry and customer requirements
- Support live customer systems with solid power system knowledge
- Create training materials and project documentation as needed
- Stay current with industry standards and trends
Belangrijkste vereisten
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Power Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation and Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience with utility project implementation or operations in the utility industry
- Experience with electrical utility control systems (SCADA, DMS, DERMS) or utility operations/engineering support
- Experience with network modelling including GIS maintenance, administration, and data entry
- Database and data structure knowledge (SQL, XML, Mongo, GIS)
- Excellent organization, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
