We are looking for a passionate Technology Specialist in Adam’s team. You do not have a fixed location and will therefore have to switch between locations depending on their wishes.
Your contribution to TenneT
- The Offshore Technical Supervisor (OTS) is a key role in the preparation, execution and management of maintenance operations offshore;
- The OTS is managing as well as executing preventive and corrective maintenance activities of TenneT, and supervising electrical safety to third parties on the platform. The OTS replaces the OIM as Emergency Response Leader in case of incapacitation of the OIM, taking measures to ensure the safety of personnel and the installation;
- Depending on the scope of work at hand the OTS will act as the technical expert on site, coordinating and supervising third parties, executing work within his own technical expertise, ensuring that contractor notifications are accurately and promptly reported and entered in SAP, and troubleshooting or providing technical assistance. Depending on level, the work can also include commissioning and acceptance of systems as part of operational readiness;
- The OTS ensures that all works are prepared and performed according to applicable rules and regulations, SLA’s and Work Permits;
- Prior to execution the OTS performs readiness checks to ensure that work packages prepared by the engineering team can safely be executed offshore according to the agreed planning;
- Post execution the OTS is involved will applying lessons learned from the execution phase to improve the maintenance documentation, work preparation, business systems, and execution planning for future campaigns.
Tasks and responsibilities include:
- Preparing and supervising safe maintenance and operations on the cable systems and platforms by TenneT personnel, subcontractors, Wind Park Operators and Third Parties;
- Ensuring compliance to legislations and SHE-rules for internal and external personnel;
- Creating a package of works for execution, including work order, Job card and PTW creation and/or checking;
- An active role in campaign preparation; ensuring safe and predictable execution by checking that work is properly organised, all material and documentation are available, and that execution considerations (for example SIMOPS, weather, supervision, safety requirements) are incorporated in the planning;
- Supervision on the Permit To Access and Permit To Work system, providing a safe place to work including electrical and mechanical lock outs and tag outs; coordination between offshore and onshore assets;
- Reporting progress, resolution of technical issues for scopes performed by TenneT personnel or subcontractors;
- Checking quality of supplier work including inspection reports, and uploading in SAP;
- Communicates progress and issues to the shore team, arranging support where required;
- Able to carry out work according to the nomination of NPcWA (Werkverantwoordelijke) or SP (Vakbekwam Persoon) depending on level;
- Executing preventive, corrective and other work scopes on the offshore assets;
- First line response to technical issues (storingswachtdienst);
- Acting as on-site Emergency Response Leader in case of incapacitation of the OIM, ensuring safety of the personnel and assets, establishing and maintaining clear communication lines with the Crisis Manager;
- Assist Projects and Operations Readiness Teams in designing, building and commissioning of new Grid Connection Systems;
- Natural ability to share knowledge and experience to improve processes and assets.
Your profile and background
- Minimum 5 years experience in a technical supervision role, within offshore, chemicals, oil and gas, or process industries. Experience in the offshore domain is a pre;
- Established an accepted operational safety leader, proven experience leading multi-cultural (subcontractor) teams during normal operations and in emergency situations;
- Relevant experience with switching operations in high voltage installations in line with the Offshore Electrical Safety standard (based on NEN ISO 3140 and NEN ISO 3840);
- Solid technical affinity, background and experience with some or all of electrical (LV, HV, GIS) and/or mechanical/auxiliary systems (HVA/C, Foam and Gas Fire Fighting, Cranes, Oil-Water Systems, Freshwater Systems, PAGA, CCTV and other auxiliary systems) and offshore installations. This covers experience in testing, configuration, system philosophy and fault finding;
- Experienced in planning, organizing, coordinating, controlling and reporting maintenance and repair work across a range of disciplines;
- Strong admin capabilities; experience creating inspection, quality and progress reports and checking those of others, creating high quality notifications in SAP;
- Ability to extract and process ERP data when required (for example to create an overview of asset status). Experience and skill using SAP, especially SAP 4/HANA, is a pre;
- Ability to work according to plan and translate complex work preparation instructions to compliant execution. Will proactively consult/communicate when issues are encountered, and follow up until they are resolved;
- Language skills in both Dutch and English, verbal and in writing, at Level B2 (confident) or higher;
- Skilled and experienced in offshore operations, including ship access and helicopter access, lifting operations and cargo handling on and near the platform;
- Experienced in working in project environments, self-starter, motivated, highly disciplined, very strong team player, constructive and solution oriented;
- Relevant knowledge and experience in occupational safety and environmental protection;
- Basic operational knowledge of offshore regulatory conditions and legislation;
- The nomination of NpcWA/SP (Werkverantwoordelijke of Vakbekwaam Persoon) is required, or needs to be achievable within a predefined period;
- Happy working an offshore roster (normally 2 weeks on/2 weeks off) plus providing technical and readiness support onshore (approx. 25% of roster).

- Salary for this position is in grade 7, between € 3.820,- and € 6.757,- gross based on a full-time position
