What are you going to do?

The high voltage grid consists of stations and connections. A connection can be further divided into cables and overhead lines. An overhead line primarily consists of pylons and conductors. As a line engineer, you carry out supervisory engineering activities for projects. You conduct consultations among various disciplines, assign tasks to engineering firms, monitor progress, and serve as the point of contact for technical content. Additionally, a line engineer may be sent to a manufacturer to test whether the delivered material meets TenneT’s requirements. This includes factors such as the tensile strength of a conductor, the conductivity of a conductor, as well as the switching withstand voltage of an insulator or the quality of the steel.

Your activities include:

  • Monitoring and assessing engineering activities
  • Directing and evaluating external engineering parties
  • Developing technical specifications and work packages, ensuring technical compliance, and reviewing calculations, drawings, reports, and analyses
  • Overseeing quality, performance, and adherence to applicable (inter)national standards and guidelines in the field of lines
  • Serving as a central point of contact and technical discussion partner regarding line-related issues
  • Responding to inquiries from other disciplines and stakeholders about lines
  • Representing the engineering team during the tendering process: preparing tender documents related to the technical aspects, reviewing tender documents
  • Representing the engineering team during the execution of the engineering assignment and realization by third parties

What do you offer?

  • You have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering
  • Well-developed communication skills and extensive experience with project-based work
  • You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in the field of connections and lines in high-voltage technology
  • You possess a big-picture perspective and can work well under time pressure
  • You are analytically strong
  • As a team player, you are proactive, results-oriented, professional, and capable of uniting different groups within a project
  • You are accustomed to, or enjoy, stepping back from direct design work to focus more on reviewing and coordinating tasks
  • You live within an hour’s drive from Arnhem
  • It is advantageous if you are proficient in working with PLS-CADD.

What will you get in return?
