Electrical & Instrumentation Technician – ATEX Environment (Arnhem)
Industrial Terminal | Full-time
Are you a hands-on E&I Technician with a strong sense of independence, safety, and technical know-how? Then this role might be a perfect fit for you.
For one of our long-term industrial clients in the Arnhem area, we are currently seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician with a solid foundation in ATEX regulations, NEN 3140, and a proactive working attitude.
This site functions as a fuel distribution terminal, where tankers deliver fuels such as gasoline and diesel. On the other end of the installation, trucks from different fuel brands dock and connect to the system to refill. It’s a dynamic environment that requires both focus and flexibility.
What will you be doing?
As an E&I Technician, you’ll be part of a team responsible for keeping the electrical and instrumentation systems in this fuel terminal running safely, smoothly, and reliably.
Your tasks include:
- Carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment such as sensors, pumps, motors, cabling, control panels, signal transmitters, etc.
- Identifying and resolving malfunctions efficiently, minimizing downtime while always respecting safety and compliance procedures
- Working independently on assigned tasks, while keeping close communication with the client and your supervisor to ensure technical work aligns with operational needs
- Documenting all maintenance and modifications, and contributing to reporting and logging requirements
- Applying ATEX and NEN3140 guidelines in all aspects of your work — or being open to further develop that knowledge through training
- Safeguarding overall plant reliability, safety and integrity of all electrical systems
This is not a junior role — we are looking for someone who can work autonomously, take initiative, and deliver quality under minimal supervision.
What we’re looking for
- MBO Level 4 in Electrical Engineering or similar
- Several years of hands-on experience in E&I work, preferably in industrial environments (tank terminals, process industry, energy sector)
- Familiarity with ATEX directives and NEN 3140 regulations — or the willingness and capability to quickly certify
- Strong communication skills — you’re able to work with clients and stakeholders on-site
- A responsible attitude — safety is always your first priority
- Proactive mindset — you see what needs to be done and take the lead
What we offer
- A challenging and rewarding technical role in a unique, safety-critical environment
- Long-term project with stability and perspective
- The ability to grow in ATEX, safety, and site-specific qualifications
- A team culture where quality and trust go hand in hand
- A competitive salary and benefits package in line with your experience
