TenneT is growing fast to realize its strategic ambitions. We play a leading role in driving the energy transition. We are looking for a passionate Communications Advisor at our location Arnhem who will contribute to this and that might be you?
Your contribution to TenneT
TenneT is a rapidly evolving organization. One of the fastest-growing units within TenneT is the international business unit Grid Field Operations Offshore Netherlands (GON), responsible for maintaining and operating the offshore electricity grid. TenneT is looking for an experienced communication consultant with a focus on external communication to support GON.
In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic positioning of TenneT Offshore. Your tasks include developing a stakeholder analysis and a strategic roadmap, as well as creating and implementing communication plans in close collaboration with internal stakeholders. You will also engage with external stakeholders to support offshore development in the Netherlands.
As a communications consultant, you will strengthen Operations Offshore’s internal and external presence by creating content, organizing (online) events, leveraging digital platforms, and developing other communication tools. You will advise leadership on various topics and projects within this unit and represent TenneT in offshore working groups and organizations.
We are looking for an engaged, experienced communications advisor who understands how to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders at different levels. As a professional, it is your second nature to provide insightful, strategic, and creative communication advice. You are familiar with a wide range of communication tools and channels and can create compelling content. You thrive in a team but are equally effective working independently. You foster collaboration and engagement across teams and stakeholders.
Can you combine strategic and tactical expertise with operational effectiveness and exceptional writing skills? Are you passionate about the energy transition, innovation, and stakeholder engagement? Perhaps you already have experience in the offshore wind industry in the Netherlands? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
Your profile and background
You’re a communicator at heart—someone who knows how to craft a message that resonates. With 5 to 10 years of experience in communications, PR, or a similar field, you’ve honed your skills in storytelling, strategic positioning, and stakeholder engagement. Writing comes naturally to you, and you have a confident, persuasive style that can adapt to different audiences.
You’re not just about words—you understand the bigger picture. Whether it’s creating a strong communication strategy, managing external projects, or navigating the media landscape, you know how to make an impact. You’re proactive, full of positive energy, and always looking for solutions rather than problems.
Since TenneT operates in the Netherlands, it’s important that you understand Dutch, both spoken and written, and have a good grasp of Dutch culture. This will help you navigate the local stakeholder landscape and communicate effectively in our environment.
Collaboration is key in this role, and you thrive in a team environment. But you also know when to take the lead and work independently. You’re creative, open-minded, and comfortable balancing multiple projects at once. And since TenneT operates in an international setting, fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential.
Where You’ll Fit In
You’ll be part of the Business Excellence team within GON while staying closely connected to the corporate communications team (within the Public Affairs and Communications Unit). This means you’ll have the chance to shape TenneT’s external positioning while also aligning with our overall communication strategies and media approach.
We welcome people from all backgrounds and experiences—as long as you’re passionate about clear, effective communication and excited about making an impact in the energy transition, we’d love to hear from you!
