Cloud Engineer (Contract)
Hybrid working from Arnhem
Contract initially until Aug 31st (Extensions likely)
This is a contract opportunity for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join a DevOps environment supporting a mission‑critical internal platform. The role focuses on developing central services, maturing a messaging/streaming platform, and enabling teams to onboard and operate securely within an internal cloud ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- Develop central services for internal DevOps teams.
- Support the maturity and operation of a Kafka-based platform.
- Align with engineers working on container-orchestrated environments.
- Work toward a fully automated environment using industry-standard tooling.
- Ensure privacy and security standards are upheld.
- Respond to incidents and participate in a rotational on‑call schedule.
- Provide tooling and suggestions to improve development speed.
- Support onboarding of teams to the platform.
Requirements:
- Bachelor‑level education or higher.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes and Terraform.
- Ability to work with a variety of open-source tools.
Preferred:
- Experience maintaining Kafka.
- CKA/CKAD certifications.
- Understanding of containerised architectures.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum.
- CI/CD experience including Git, Helm, ArgoCD.
